Retention of Personal Information

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law. As a general guide:

• Financial and transactional records (invoices, payment records, booking confirmations) are retained for a minimum of seven years in accordance with Australian Taxation Office record-keeping requirements.
• General client records (booking history, communication, preferences) are retained for up to five years following the conclusion of your last trip or enquiry with us.
• Marketing data is retained until you withdraw your consent or request removal.
• Passport and identity document copies are retained only for the delivery of your travel arrangements and are automatically and permanently deleted 30 days after the completion of your trip.

When information is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it.

Please note that opting out of marketing communications does not affect transactional or service-related communications necessary for the delivery of your booking.

Photographs and Videos

By participating in our tours, you consent to Unearth Adventure using photographs, videos, or comments collected of you, or provided by you, for promotional and marketing purposes. You grant us a royalty-free licence to use this content across our website, social media channels, and marketing materials.

If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please notify your trip lead at the start of the tour and confirm this preference in writing to info@unearthadventure.com prior to the commencement of your tour. We will not use images that are deemed private or sensitive in nature.

If you see any content featuring you across our website or social media and you wish to have it removed, please contact us at info@unearthadventure.com and we will action your request promptly.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information or failed to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us directly at info@unearthadventure.com. We will investigate and respond within 30 days.

If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
